Transformation through education

From "for some" to "for everyone." edX opens the classroom through online learning, allowing millions of students to realise their full potential and become changemakers.

From experiment to worldwide movement

While the internet enabled large-scale innovation across a wide range of businesses, higher education only reached a small percentage of the world's curious minds. One afternoon in an MIT lab, Professor Anant Agarwal and his colleagues from MIT and Harvard devised a long-shot experiment: a platform that would give their courses online, free of charge, to anybody willing to take the challenge. Professor Agarwal's MIT Circuits and Electronics course was introduced in February 2012, and edX.org was founded.

We at edX are fundamentally forward-thinking, and we are always shaping the future in collaboration with our partners. In honour of our 10-year milestone, we're taking a time to reflect on where we've been, what we've accomplished, and genuinely appreciate how far we've come.
